| Enjoying Fellowship with God - Raymond Morris...... |
|
|
|
Raymond is one of the longest serving members of our fellowship, since 1958 in fact. He is a Blackburn lad by birth and was privileged to have been brought up in a Christ-centred family with a father who was a local preacher. Nevertheless, he needed to know Christ for himself.. |
||
| With such a church orientated family his life has
always been focussed on the church. When he was about 11 years old even
the man he helped out with his coal business was a church member. As time went on his life became less centred on
church activities and more on it’s head, Jesus Christ as shown by him
joining a prayer group of young people when he was in his early teens.
Raymond is unable to put his finger on a point in time when he was
converted but it was definitely before 1942 because it was in that year at
the age of 16 years that he made a public declaration of having received
Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour by being baptised. Even though Raymond has spent so many years in the
Lord’s presence and with his people he would be the first to say that no
way is he perfect, in fact a long way short. but nevertheless is thankful
that because of God’s grace and love as shown in Jesus Christ he is able
to enjoy fellowship with God. Raymond has not been in the best of health for some
time now but acknowledges how the Lord has kept him through the years and
shown him much kindness. |
